Hi

Hi, I'm Swissaeby and you will follow my life in the swiss army through this blog.
First of all I will explain the whole process of entering the swiss army as an introduction to this blog.

The swiss army is a militia type of army, that means that each male at the age of 20 years old has to serve in the army at least 300 days, then he goes back home with his rifle and gives it back at the age of 34 years old. These 300 days, he can choose to do it all in once or first a hundred and then 20 each year till the 300. The military process begins at the males' 18th year when they have to present themselves to the census. There they give thier names, address and occupation. Later They are called in for an information day where they decide the year of their recruitment. 2 weeks before this recruitment they receive a letter to summons them for three days of recruitment in the nearrest recruitment centre. For most of people it's only 2 days but for the prospective drivers it's 3 days. The 1st day they arrive, there is a 1st medical examination to be sure that the person is fit for the sport examination, then they are divided in groups. Then they will have 2 psychological tests, an intelligence test, a memory test, and several test of leadership. Between all these tests there are some presentations about the different branches and careers in the military. And then there is the big medical test where they test the ears, the eyes, they are doing an EKG and the health in general. They can do also a blood test and a chest scan but it's only optional. The sport examination can happen during the 1st or the 2nd day. During the 2nd day there is an appointment with two military doctors who decides if the person is fit for duty. If a person is they will give her combat boots and during the afternoon there will be an appointment with the recruitment officer to discuss the carreer. Then in the next year there will be the bootcamp, it can be in March, July or October.
